On the sociability of APIsWhen organizations exceed a certain number of people, the main problems go from being technological to sociological in nature. It is not only about scalability, resilience, or availability. The “sociability” of the architecture becomes a concern. Cross-team dependencies, need for alignment or meeting overload are all sociological stress catalysts that must be incorporated in the architecture design process. In this talk we will explore how an API-centric strategy can pave the way to a self-service platform in which unnecessary “social dependencies” are removed.
